DESIGN SYSTEM
PRONTO SOFTWARE
Building the design foundation for a 24-module enterprise platform
Pronto Xi had no formal design system when I joined. I built and evolved a shared UX foundation across 24 modules, covering tokens, components, responsive behaviour, accessibility, documentation and governance.
NTS introduced IBM Carbon as the front-end UI layer, which later became the UI foundation adopted across Pronto Xi.

THE CHALLENGE
Consistency became a product problem at scale
"Years of independent module development had created different patterns for navigation, spacing, components, states and accessibility. As Pronto Xi moved from legacy desktop software to a modern platform, consistency could no longer depend on individual designers or engineers"
The goal wasn't to make every module look identical. It was to create a shared foundation that let every module evolve consistently.
THE DESIGN SYSTEM

HOW I SCALED IT
Design → Document → Build → Validate → Govern → Evolve
I worked closely with engineers to align component behaviour, states, responsiveness and implementation requirements.
Components were documented at the point of use, validated in real product work and governed through contribution and change-management practices.
This allowed teams to reuse proven patterns rather than recreate them.
The result was a scalable design foundation that helped Pronto Xi teams design and build faster, more consistently and with accessibility built in.
